Personal Trainer Certification a certification that can open the door to a great career in the fitness field.


  • Understand and describe basic anatomy, kinesiology, and exercise physiology.
  • Assess an individual’s level of fitness using ACSM guidelines.
  • Design and customize exercise programs.
  • Demonstrate proper execution of resistance, cardio-respiratory, and flexibility exercises.
  • Identify and demonstrate at least one strength exercise for every major muscle group.
  • Explain ACSM and AHA recommendations for cardiovascular exercise.


Your course fee includes all online and live training, your internship, the ACSM Fitness Professional’s Handbook, sixth edition, and your student workbook. All materials will be available online. It is recommended that you use Firefox (version 3.6 or greater), Chrome (version 11 or greater), or Safari (version 5 or greater). There may be compatibility issues when using Internet Explorer, so it is best to use an alternative browser. You will also need Adobe Flash (version 9.0 or greater; 10 is preferable), Adobe Reader, and PowerPoint. You can take this course on a PC or a Mac; however, if you take this course on a Mac, you will not be able to participate in the video portions without installing the add-on offered within the program.
